Part 11: Separation from the Institute
Part 11: Separation from the Institute
376 In the case of separation from the Institute, the norms of the universal law will be followed:
377 Transfer to another Institute: CIC, cc 684-685.
378 Departure from the Institute: CIC, cc 686-693.
379 Dismissal of members: CIC, cc 694-704.
In case of dismissal or expulsion of a member with perpetual vows, a deacon or a priest, it is necessary to provide complete information and to have a careful dialogue with the Bishop where the headquarters of the Institute are located, before deciding the expulsion. The Provincial Superior, with the deliberative vote of his Council will initiate the process of dismissal. The Superior General, with his Council acting as a College, will proceed to the dismissal. This decision must be confirmed by the Bishop.[351]
